Wishful thinking?

The main Chicago Photography group at Flickr currently has 591 members and 9,655 items in the pool, so it is certainly a real group, now, but ... I'm having trouble getting people to post to the discussion section. I'll have to work on that.

But that's not what this blog is to be about, at least not for the most part. I'm looking forward to a time when the group starts having meetups, but wonder if there would ever be interest among the membership in that. People don't seem very talkative, so I wonder how social they'd want to be.

Maybe everybody is waiting for somebody else to be the first to go? I'm thinking of what I could post ... mathematical art? Not sure that anything Math related is going to appeal to anybody on the group except for me. Recipes and kitchen photos? That might appeal to half of the membership, but I've found that many people in Chicago proper cling to the curious belief that men aren't supposed to be able to cook, so half would hang back.

I'll have to give it some thought.
